Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. Born on November 11, 1966. Her debut came in a Bond movie, A View to a Kill in 1985. She starred in 1989 as an archaeologist with Nazi sympathies Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Approached by a photographer Doody decided to take up modeling that eventually led to an industry-related career in modelling. Doody was extremely determined not to do the glamorous work or doing nude. The rule was extended to her acting career. After getting noticed by the directors of casting for the James Bond new film, Doody was cast in a minor part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one of the top 12 promising young Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody, who was only 18 when she played Doody in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) with Mickey Rourke. She is the youngest Bond Girl to date. In 1987, Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA Member Siobhan Donovan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 TV version of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. Doody's first leading role came in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress starred alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as a forensic archaeologist in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody starred alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries the British mini-series inspired by Hitler Diaries. Then she moved to Hollywood. She went on as Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen, as well as partner for Major League II. She was selected as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who had been L'Oreal's spokesperson. Doody's return to the big screen took place in 2003 when Michael Caine played Doody in the role of a brief. She also appeared in 2004 alongside Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody was a part-time actress in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Later, she appeared as a guest in RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project later stalled. The actress began her two seasons on the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way.
